Good actually. Chess, Go, checkers, ect. It's all pure games of logic, there's no creativity, no soul, even with Go. I'm glad the games were solved so we can actually start learning what the fuck is happening in the background mathematically, both with the games and the AI.

It doesn't, the ladder is extremely stratified on the european and korean servers. SC2 is more demanding w/r/t visual-spatial processing and requires good motor skills, it is simply a superior game for higher iq individuals than chess or GO. The complexity and dynamism of the game's mechanics makes it more difficult for soulless bug engineering to compete with raw evolutionarily fine tuned cognitive firepower of the white and asiatic races unfortunately desu.

alphastar was not able to maintain the winrate of the top tier EU players and never laddered against the Koreans, it is fundamentally an inferior "intelligence" compared to the best SC2 players. in the future this could change but atm it is more difficult to replicate the abstract reasoning necessary to win at games like sc2 without giving the AI/ML some kind of maphacks or extreme motor-skill advantage (ie unlocking apm)

Alpha zero only shows that the regular engines suck. For example no engine reuses refutations on further moves, so the engine has to find the same mate in X for every move, despite most moves not preventing the threat.
