Many anons over the years have wondered, why is the First Post, so often the Best Post? I have come up with a hypothesis based in social psychology:
>something is ignored by masses, less social value
>on 4chan, 0 replies means 0 social value
>thus, it is socially ignored
>the first reply is then one who replies not out of social interest, but genuine interest
>thus the reply will be more thought out and carry more insight, generally
