>>11694332...no? Math + CS is a wonderful and powerful combination, both out of undergrad and going into grad
>>11697363>Too stupid for the real scienceswhy do you keep buying into /sci/ memes? yes there are code monkey programs out there. However, any CS program worth its salt, ie top 20, is a mix of math and engineering
>Will quickly be replaced by AI when the time comesCS itself is an academic study and won't be replaced in the way you're thinking. Either way, if you're trying to say software will be automated, this is true, but that will hit traditional engineering more than software engineering, given that people in the latter field have job security doing nontrivial work. Codemonkeys will be btfo, but code monkeys exist in both software engineering and other forms of engineering (ie CADmonkeying)
The answer also is that engineering is generally too stupid for real sciences and mathematics. CS itself is not software.
>>11697576You afford other forms of engineering the benefit of the doubt for being complex enough not to be replaced but not CS, or even software engineering itself, which is predicated on different problems than "dae, which code makes computer go brr?" Sort of a weird double standard.
