The "ratio" is the fundamental unit but of course ratios can be infinitely fractioned. Therefore an automaton model of reality requires real number cells, not binary. Interestingly, Wolfram wrote previously about real-number "continuous" automaton which is what inspired more advanced unified models, but Wolfram never put that together himself. when the unified model is widely accepted Wolfram will be credited as inspiration but his hypergraph is not it.
