Why do most diseases come from bats?

With the recent coronavirus outbreak, it's really got me wondering. Back in 2013 during the Ebola outbreak, bats were also implicated. In 2002, it was the same thing. In the US, they're known to carry rabies and histoplasmosis. Only 2 - 3 deaths happen a year from rabies, but when it does happen, it's typically from bats, with the only exception being mostly imported cases. To name a few famous examples, in 2002 a Cedar Rapids based hip-hop musician "Lil Bout It" died from rabies encephalitis as a result of a bat bite (lab tests revealed it to be a strain associated with Silver-haired/Eastern Pipistrelle bats) and in 2005, the son of Mississippi Democratic senator David Baria died of rabies (strain unknown) allegedly from a bat that flew in his room.

Any reasons why?
