>>11687511perhaps what is suggested in the image is that with a longbow, it is more convenient to shoot arrows at a longer range (opposed to the mongol bow, which is smaller and designed for riding on horseback, not standing). whether not the person in the image's reasoning about the velocity (and by proxy it's ability to penetrate armor) is correct, shooting arrows at a longer range necessitates a higher velocity arrow which necessarily is better at penetrating armor.
