it's not secret lol. Usually the service itself has a page to get the access codes for cheaper. Either way, if they don't, then you just got fucked by early university education

Because the professor will just fail the people who don't have a code, and a lot of students have 3rd party funding (GI bill, financial aid, daddy etc).

In classes (math classes, at least) where you have pay for access to online homework, it's usually being forced by a CC.
