The interference pattern that Michaelson-Morley was suppose to detect didn't show up at all. The speed of light was constant no matter what direction the light traveled in relation to the Earth's rotation. However, shouldn't there be a shift in frequency? When the beam is split, the portion of the beam traveling in the path of Earth should be red-shifted in respect to any sensor that is to the eastwing of the interferometer and blue-shifted to the west wing of the interferometer?
Also, the entire apparatus is in a non-inertial reference frame (rotating Earth). How would that affect the results as well?
