How should I move my career to science

I got a bachelors in economics and started working in finance but I’ve basically come to the realization that all economics is basically a joke and meme. I want to dedicate myself to science and technology. What should I do? Should I basically just start over with another degree or am I fucked?

Definitely not. Start a science based company and hire or work side by side with scientists. Nearly every stem major I've talked to is absolutely braindead when it comes to business. If you have any business intuition and take initiative in starting the company I bet you could manipulate science majors into working for peanuts and then take all the profit.

Well then I hope you enjoy working for someone else. It's hard to do science as an individual. You need to beg people for grant money, or compete against tons of people desperate for jobs. Trust me, start a company and get employees and then you have the power to pursue any subject that interests you, instead of what your boss wants to do to make an extra buck.

I’ll think about it because I see your point but I did run an independent side business for a while and I was just a slave to customers and profits. Obviously, it was just me so it’s different but still.

I was exposed to Wall Street job as an intern in college so I was thinking about trying to get into grad school and diving into quant finance and fintech. What do you think about that?

Science is just not worth it. I would say, it would be a smarter idea to further your skills in business or go into technology. Most science jobs expect individuals to have either strong entrepreneurial skills or programming skills. In addition lab sciences are a pain in the ass.
