>>11682310>but people don't just take benzos or alcohol for nothingI literally took benzos for fun when I was a teenager. I wasn't really depressed or anything. I was really "interested" in drugs as a teenager and browsed a lot of drug forums, and I always read about peoples' "crazy" benzo stories online, and I just wanted to try it, so I got myself sent to a shrink and faked an anxiety disorder and then pushed him to progressively increase the dose. I also got him to switch me from ativan to xanax and then convinced him to give me a PRN valium prescription on top of that. I would sell them to my friends and kids at my school and we'd go to parties and overdose while drinking and purposely black out for the funny stories. This was around the time that phenazepam got really big too, and we thought hurr durr russian amnesia drug really funny, so we did that too.
Various retarded things I did as a result of benzo abuse ended up getting me sent to juvie, which was actually pretty fun. I didn't have to go to highschool (which is mostly bullshit anyways) and I just read books all day. If only I had started studying science back then, things would be great now. I mostly just read literature and taught myself to draw portraits. Unfortunately, the "school" they have for kids in juvie is absolutely retarded and I kinda skipped a year of trigonometry and such, which ended up biting me in the ass later.
IDK if benzos actually dropped my IQ personally (obviously the effects on my life were likely worse than the actual physical effects), but I suspect that they cause brain damage at least to the same extent as alcohol does. The difference is just that it is way easier to overdose on benzos than alcohol. I'm sure getting fully blackout drunk makes you stupider. It's just much easier to black yourself out on benzos than on alcohol, and that's gotta fuck up your brain.
