The universe (Latin: universus) is all of space and time and their contents, including planets, stars, galaxies, and all other forms of matter and energy.
When the verses are completely separated, which is the case, then there are multiple Universes all within their neat little boundaries. The Universe is a living organism, an egg in fact and just like other eggs undergoes mitosis, each division making a new verse. If you don't like this naming scheme you are more than welcome to try and attempt to coin a new one
