Has anyone here, or any other source elsewhere, done an overview of the literature on using country-wide lockdowns as a pandemic intervention prior to 2020?
Alternatively, can you point me in the direction of any such literature. I've tried usual search methods but it seems that lockdown pre-2020 was mainly used to refer to prisons specifically, and stuff like "quarantine" is too vague to point to the sorts of policies that have been enacted in many countries recently.
My initial impression is that lockdown policies were not only not supported by pre-2020 literature, but that they also were not even considered a serious option.
