I think I've come up with a new way to extract noble gases from air.
Just fill a container with air, make sure its airtight.
Then fill the container with hydrogen.
The oxygen will turn into water and the nitrogen into ammonia, leaving behind only the noble gases.

The way they get noble gases right now is pretty efficient. They get the air super cold and it liquifies. Then slowly increasing the temperature the different components will boil off one by one and can be collected. Repeating the processes can get higher and higher purities necessary for getting the tiny traces of gases like neon, xenon etc. The way they do it now preserves the pure oxygen and nitrogen too which is useful, and reacting the hydrogen would take more energy and actually likely make the entire process harder. Cool idea though. What you described is kinda how they make ammonia.

The platinum is rapid heating. Even if you avoid a detonation its quite likely you would rupture the vessel due to pressure increase from the heated gas. At any scale larger than a benchtop I dont think you would be able to dissipate the energy fast enough.
