Why don't we simply count days in a year without months? For example, today would be 2020-136. Christmas this year will be on 2020-360. WTC attacks were on 2001-254. WW1 ended on 1911-315.

Over time people would get used to these numbers and acquire a sense of where within a year they are. You'd know that around 180 is the middle of the year and that it's summer, around 100 it's Easter, around 300 it's Halloween etc.

You'd think in terms 'single-digit numbers are winter, around 100 it starts to get warmer, around 200 is the hottest, after 250 it start to get colder' etc.
