That looks radical. How does someone draw specific art using waves? If you wanted a happy face what would you do? It looks more vintage on old CRT displays, so newer LCD oscilloscopes seem bland.

oscilloscopes have an input for both the X and Y axis. often you apply a saw wave on X and then put a signal you measure on Y to plot a signal in time, but nothing prevents you from applying different inputs.

for instance, you could treat the oscilloscope as a vector display, and draw lines to the display. alternatively you could just output a series of dots, which is appears to how OPs image was made.
