Why do people have to be so political? Why can't they just get work done and be polite to others? Everyone at Berkeley is a social liberal extremist mandarin of empire who wants to test you for correct political/social beliefs all the time. There is no room for genuine scientific work outside of a few cloistered lab groups up the hill at the pentagon-lab. I just wanted to do science, not be an acolyte of globohomo.

before you ask, i used to study history and philosophy in my youth before undergrad and throughout. i "get" their little theoretical arguments and i'm not "persuaded". i could and have intelligently taken them down which just makes them seethe more. so i stopped doing that. but i say this because the globohomo paints any critique or critic as uneducated, anti intellectual, hateful, retarded, etc.
