>>11672172The veneer of civilization is incredibly thin and fragile. If anything the CV19 "crisis" should be ample demonstration of how irrational, self centered and ignorant the vast majority of the population truly is.
The point with CC is not so much the long term damage to global ecosystems but the fact that tiny shifts in rainfall patterns and temperatures can have a dramatic effect on food supplies. In western countries we are fairly well buffered from the direct effects, at least initially. The problem arises when the majority of the worlds population in 3rd world countries begin to experience food uncertainty.
How CC will impinge upon humanity will not be so much about ecosystem collapse, although that is a clear long term danger it will still take a long time to affect us, but rather the precipitation of mass migrations, social unrest and wars taking place in 3rd world countries. With the economies of so many nations closely interlinked the impact of those will directly affect standards of living in the western world. This leads in turn to unrest and political destabilization in those countries, a situation which will be taken advantage of by every political faction. We can expect Balkanization and civil conflict to become more common.
In summary CC will be manifested by wide spread physical violence on both local and international scales between humans long before the environmental effects become directly deadly ( other than an increasing number of diseases appearing as time goes on ).
Since over population is fundamentally responsible for CC we should expect some degree of mitigation of damage to the environment as the human population reduces itself to more sustainable numbers through self culling. It remains to be seen if significant population reductions will come in time to avoid key CC tipping points. No one has enough information to determine that with any degree of accuracy yet.
Personally I suggest learning sailing and purchasing a yacht.
