I think energy based concepts can maybe work with one shot learning ideas. Igor from normAl wrote a paper about this.

The real problem I'm facing is back prop is really expensive on complex neural networks. OpenS have the computer power.

Working currently on a better way to do back prop.

Coursera if you don't have maths or skills for AI. Maths for machine learning imperial college course, deep ai course by Ng, advanced machine learning Russian one in that order.

it's possible. throwing money at a problem like figuring out ai is no guarantee. i actually have a friend who developed his own 3d game engine by himself that rivaled at one point what teams of software enggs were up to. it was actually ahead of the curb in many ways. if he wasn't such an autist he would've done something with it but i digress. 1 brilliant mind >> teams of midwits with piles of money.
