Can someone please explain to me what AI actually is? I am in no way going to assert that I am a machine learning expert. I am a getting my PhD in computational chemistry and have been asked to model certain things. I've trained simple models like support vector machines and the most intensive being XG Boost. I've learned about how these algorithms work and also about bagging and boosting and stacking etc. Yet, I have no concept of what AI is whatsoever. Can someone help? Is ML a required subcomponet of AI?
