So, I'm basically a noob what either thing, crispr and covid19 concerns.
But I am wondering: there are some voices around, saying that there would not be a vaccine for covid19 because there can be no vaccine against some kind of RNA-covid19-relationship (whatever this relation is, can someone enlighten me on it?)
And: Would it be possible to make someone immune to covid19 if any other antibody-immunity fails?

what's more likely is that cases of 'second infections' are predominantly people who were presumptive cases initially but never actually had the virus. more unlikely is that they might have contracted a substrain - which is something we can still vaccinate against.

also what does CRISPR have to do with your question OP?

thanks mate. I think i actually confused the rna property of the virus and thought the virus itself would somewhat infect or damage the dna or rna strain of the human body.
Thus propably the strange question about "vaccinating" people before they were born via the crispr method.
So rna-Virus merely means it is more adaptable and the voices, talking about there being no vaccine against covid19, because it is a rna-virus would point that out?

Whether a vaccine will work or not has nothing to do with whether it's an RNA virus or a DNA virus. Your immune system makes antibodies against the viral proteins, not the nucleic acids.

Virions that have a destroyed protein coat are not infectious. That's how ethanol destroys viruses and sanitizes surfaces.

There are many proteins in SARS-CoV-2. Some are going to mutate, but your immune system creates redundant antibodies against different parts of the same protein to maximize immunity. One swapped amino acid in a new strain is not enough to prevent your immune system from killing the virus.

Eventually, the virus will mutate enough in the population that your prior immunity won't work anymore. But that might take a long time. SARS-CoV-2 uses something called an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase to copy its genetic material, which is bad news because those types of polymerases are generally inaccurate. However, SARS-CoV-2 has some amount of 'proofreading' ability when copying, which means it won't mutate as quickly as something like the common cold.

Are we talking month, years? Does the virus not affect different people in different ways and in a different environment form completely different mutations?
If it takes years for a virus to mutate, does this mean we have until then to find a cure, and once it starts mutating it's pretty much out of anybodies hands because of the sheer amount of mutations?

honestly, I don't know. but the same thing applies to the flu and vaccines work for that. it stands to reason that if we can develop a vaccine, it will be a useful tool for suppressing the pandemic.

nah it's mainly just because of the intrinsic error rate of the polymerase. the virus doesn't need to copy itself perfectly to proliferate, so it doesn't.

No the polymerase just copies the virus' RNA strand. The proteins for new viruses are created by your own cellular machinery, namely ribosomes.

what you're thinking of is probably one of the other Cas systems, which still fall under the umbrella of CRISPR

yeah. i don't understand the replication mechanisms of sars-cov-2 but what you're describing is essentially antiviral therapy. its really hard to control the enzymes that drive replication themselves that subtly, but it is possible to make drugs that look like nucleic acids and selectively clog up viral replication processes over normal cellular replication processes.
