The reason why CAR-T works so great for blood cancers is that there is nothing in your blood stream besides erythrocytes that can't be killed in totality, assuming you're protected from infections. Most approved CAR-T therapies just target CD19, which is on all of the cancerous B-cells in lymphoma but also on all of your healthy B-cells. The difference is you can eradicate the majority of your healthy B-cells and still survive, while the same is not true for lung cells or brain cells.
