Are you interested in politics for example? Do you question your beliefs in what id the right thing to do politically as hard as the beliefs of the other sides?
Do you think aliens exist?
Regardless of whether you think yes, or no. Have you examined your reasons to think so? How many baseless assumptions did you need to arrive at that belief? And even if your assumptions have some merit, do you know that you are right?
A lot of what people do is basically trying to prove an opinion they already have and like.
