I mean I am roughly aware of how does regular logic gate work with all of those silicones but even those took hundreds of years of development, how does quantum logic gate even work? Are they even in binary?

Quantum computer use qubit, the quantum equivalent of qubit. Then we use quantum gate that work as operator to change the qubit state. For universal computation, we need a two qubit gate and a mono rotation gate. Also you can't copy a qubit state and can't measure without breaking a lot of stuff.
