Someone being smart is a completely relativistic metric, if everyone is smart with the same IQ exactly, society will reach perfect equilibrium and stagnate forever, or better say untill resources run out. hence having stupid people is just as important as having smart people, and the smarter some people become, the more stupid people are needed to balance it out and stay in a non equilibrium state.
But, what the kali guy said is true, inevitably an equilibrium will be reached, it is unavoidable, and equilibrium is infact analogous to death. This equilibrium will be reached because as he said, dumb people cannot seem to adjust to the new reality, they keep their ways, and as smaller and smaller numbers of people are actually smart ( and i dont mean academically smart- but smart in the sense of seeing reality as it really is) untill all are stupid.
Just to clarify- im not pessimistic, i still think it is possible that we can main disequilibrium. I mean, when everyone is dumb, they tend to die horribly, its just what dumb people do best when smart people are not around, and disequilibrium is maintained.
