The more I read about politically sensitive topics the more I realize that tons and tons of academics are just constantly lying to me. You basically can't tell if a citation is legitimate unless you do your homework and read the cited study. This is legitimately scary. Science has been compromised and not only has it been compromised but it has been compromised for basically forever. How can you educate yourself about a subject outside of your area of expertise if the experts are out to get you?

This post brought to you by my jaw hitting the floor upon discovering that Richard Lynn is a complete charlatan who fabricates data. This makes Charles Murray a charlatan by transitivity. I had always assumed that Murray's basic claims about what the literature says were correct. I disagreed with his conclusions but I had accepted that the data indicates that a milder version of them might be correct. I feel cheated.
