Why are supernova simulations so inaccurate?

Any speculation what is missing in our understanding of physics that's been throwing off computer simulations so much? It seems like this would be pretty straightforward, but supernovas are observed to be much more energetic than we predict from models.

How can I speculate what is missing, if I don't know current computer model?

Maybe matter blowups cause thin layer that is protecting matter from collapsing, go away, therefore it collapses even more than expected.

I’ve heard that under the extreme conditions of a supernova neutrinos MIGHT be able to interact more with matter than under normal conditions. Since there’s a huge neutrino release this might explain some of the inconsistency. I’m not looking for hard science, just educated speculations. I know some people here hate when you guess

when you loop at photos like these, as well as photos of phenomena right here on earth, i really start to feel like the entire earth is just a small cell inside someone's brain.
Just look at the "lightning sprite" phenomena, it looks like whenever some serious activity is happening, everything takes the shape of bio matter, as if for a brief time we get to see the inside tissue of the living being we are inside of.
