Ive been told it's a good beginner book, but then again /sci/ thinks Rudin's books is noob friendly.

A good intro to linear algebra overall is Linear Algebra: Gateway to Mathematics by Robert Messer, but obviously certain books and their explanation of certain topics will easier for someone at an entry-level to understand. Really, there's enough resources that any book that you pick can easily be supplemented with videos (eg. 3Brown1Blue), websites, or even other textbooks.
