I considered that, that the pandemic might increase funding for medical research and it could accelerate progress. It depends on what happens with the economy, if it totally collapses, or takes forever to recover we will be set back. You can't do research if you are starving and homeless. The lesson about being unprepared has been learned, now we need a quick economic recovery.

Yes because this is EXACTLY what happened after the 1918 influenza pandemic that killed 50 million people and the ongoing HIV/AID pandemic that has killed 32 million people so far.

Face it, they'll throw some money in the direction of vaccine research for a couple of years and then progressively cut it back until there's less than before this pandemic. And when SARS-3 or Super-Ebola rolls around everyone will be wondering why they hadn't prepared for it.
