There is a lot bias built into the brain biologically, its strong concentration on personal identity which is why people marvel at the anthropic principle wondering how is it possible that everything facilitates the fact that we exist so neatly. And yet you're looking at it as the end product of that as if anything else could result in you.
In simpler terms forget about the universe and think about your own self. You can only "exist" and experience as long as you are a brain that is essentially an apparatus made to perceive, so obviously, you do exist. But there is no death, no great sleep or great void or whatever. There can only be existence.
