Grass was made to walk on. Many plants were, literally, made to be eaten. It's fundamentally part of their life cycle. An inexorable aspect of their literal evolution.
Let us, further, suppose that the very reason DNA is a base 4 program is a side-effect of my indecision with regard to how to be fair to all life, simultaneously, and that synthetic DNA is only giving me manifestation anxiety on top of an already complex world.
