Someone told me cats are good for the environment because of rodent control but someone else told me they are bad for it because they kill so many birds. So are they good or bad for the environment /sci/?

They can and they do, it's just very time consuming and definitely not their main source of food even in the wild or they wouldn't survive.
Domestic cats can do it because they already have a sure meal waiting for them at home.
It's still small numbers though.

No, I just think it varies with cat population and enviroment. Cats can do various other things than killing rodents, like giving you likes on social media if you slap them or something.

Bad but depends on your environment.
If you live in california, new york or any of those shitholes your cat will be killed by rats and he won`t affect the environment (there`s nothing to unbalance)
