can anyone help me with this?


The Figure shows an elephant standing in a barge. The barge has a flat bottom with an area in plan of 31 m2 and the sides of the barge are vertical. The elephant has a mass of 3,600 kg. Calculate the additional displacement of the barge when the elephant climbs aboard. You may assume that the centre of gravity of the elephant is directly above the centroid of the base of the barge (i.e. the barge displaces vertically without any rotation. (Density of water = 1000 kg/m3)
