Is it true that the average intelligence required to make a discovery that puts your name down in history has gone up over time? Obviously yes, but by how much? Would I be likely to become a famous scientist if I were born into the 700's as the son of a rich scholar? Who cares about Euclid and Newton when Einstein was obviously far beyond their level? Will AI one day become the only being capable of advancing science or does science have a hard cap?
