Time has a different sign that the spatial dimensions in the spacetime
interval. I know why this has to be the case (so that the theory is relativistic and there is a speed limit, the speed of light), but i’m not sure philosophically why that is true. Time also always goes forward, while have the freedom to move through space. Why that is, is also a mystery, but it appears to be connected with the second law of thermodynamics.
