>>11629945We don't need 1000000x faster processors anymore on a commercial scale. We barely use what we already have.
Tech companies will simply move to manifacturing different kinds of chips. A second revolution in computer hardware is coming. In memory computing, neuromorphic computing, optical computing etc.
Even silicon based chips are getting more specialized, FPGAs TPUs, GPUs and heterogenious architecture will keep the ride going for a long time.
There's a shitton of technologies brewing, many are very promising, only time will tell which ones will take over the world.
My prediction is that neuromorphic computing is the next big thing. It's too fundamentally different than classical computing that it can't be concidered in moore's law. The main advantage is the much cheaper power consumption and its amazing synergie with AI. It will definetly become a integral tech in AI and robotics.
This train has no breaks brother, tech companies WILL suffer if they do not adapt.
