Are there money in bioinformatics? I'm a software engineering, and several years ago at uni I really enjoyed bioinformatics but never pursued it further. Let's say I get into it and become very good at it. What's the best I could do? I'm not talking about getting stuck in some lab for some non profit org. More like making a company where I could outsorce work for big bio companies, or do research that I'd sell to some. Is there anything like that for bioinformatics? If so, how well does it pay?
