If I was passing high school math without any problems then dropped out at 16 should I read the Gelfand books or Lang? I assume that most of the chart is garbage but those two have been mentioned before.
Also is Kiselev's stuff a waste of time or not?

If you do math just for the fun of it, I'm sure all these books would give you something of value.

Otherwise I'd say grab a pre-calc textbook for a good overview.
