First of all, the way you have made your argument sounds like you are talking only about engineers and not about other scientists. Modern day scientists design way more "puzzles" than philosophers. Science is ALL ABOUT designing puzzles, testing the solutions and then drawing the results from them. Designing experiments is designing puzzles, how is deep space exploration not a puzzle?
Arguments that you could make is:
Yes but most "scientists" teach or work for profit. To which I say: that is not "science". Modern day capitalism is forcing scientists to work for such businesses and salary is often far greater than the "real science" but even then, there are way more real "scientists" then there are philosophers.
2. Universe made the puzzles and scientists are just solving them like mindless worms. TO which I say - how is that different than philosophy? The universe also made your brain so whichever puzzle "you think of" is also made by "the universe".
Philosophy is hiding that there is no real intellect behind them with complicated words which when you translate to normal english usually sound obvious or just like making up problems that don't exist.
If you are going to respond to this, please use some examples, statistics etc instead of just saying "burr hurr me real smart me read few books with complicated words"
