Chemistry without physics is literally nothing beyond some neat phenomenological descriptions of chemicals.

I study chemistry but physics all the way. We can use the physics to re-derive the chemistry we are at easy. We can't re-derive physics from organic chemistry diagrams lacking any information on atomic or molecular structure.

I'd argue the other way around. I think the loss of chemistry would be more devastating to quality of life.Without chemistry we ould not create medicines, materials etc. So it would be better to facilitate a society with high quality of life so they could re-derive physics.

Imagine if cavemen had knowledge of modern chemistry, as opposed to physics.
