So imagine we have two giant mirrors facing each other, the mirrors reflect each other and create a infinity effect, but is it actually infinite? The light reflected by the mirror is slowly absorbed by the mirrors themselves, so at a certain number of reflections they stop, in the instant the reflection of that ray of light is over what happens? Does the mirror just go black or what?

I guess each time the light passes through the mirror it's the same as passing through a new layer of glass. How many layers of glass until you can't see anymore? And what does that look like? Depends on the glass I guess.

Of course it's not infinity because photons take time to travel between the mirrors. And then there is the fact that you only have a finite amount of photons. all a mirror is is something that photons bounce off of and retain pretty much the same attributes (i.e. approximately the same wavelength).

What are you doing, beaming some photons at a mirror then turning off the light source? I guess you could have an enclosed sphere with an internal mirror surface, project some light into it, then extremely quickly remove the light source and seamlessly seal the gap where the light was projected through, so you have photons bouncing around inside a perfect mirror sphere (or as close to perfect as quantization will allow us to get).

The "rays" of lights are photons. Mirrors are imperfect, they absorb a percentage of the photons that strike them. You throw 100 photons in and get 99 out of a good mirror. Those 99 go to the other mirror and 98 come back, and so forth losing ~1% each time. After a thousand reflections you're unlikely to have any photons left no matter how many you started with. What happens to the photons? They're absorbed into the material as heat (if the photon is a low energy one like visible light is).
If the mirror was a perfect reflector then the photons would bounce around essentially forever. If you made a sphere out of this material and had some way to get photons in to begin with, you could use it as a sort of light battery. Such a material doesn't exist as far as we know, but there are other ways to keep photons moving around for a long time.

It only works when the mirrors are not facing each other exactly. The deviation creates the effect.

Well, fiber optic cables basically use both light for sending clean and fast signals, and electro magnetic force to amplify the light while it bounces inside endless micro mirrors.

How do you know? The only way to know is to get an infitesimaly tiny camera and have it hang from a string while aimed at the mirrors. Preferably have two back to back, so you can see what happens on both sides.

You can't have a tenth of a photon. Each photon gets its own 99% chance of being reflected each time, so saying you have 99 photons after the first step is wrong as well. You could have 100, you could have zero. Although having all 100 absorbed by chance on the first step is extremely unlikely. On average though, you'll have 99 after one, and 98 after two.

OP you have to reduce this to it's most basic, not go big. You need one photon and two mirrors, and how long can you bounce that one photon back and forth? I'm sure there's labs doing something like this for reasons beyond me.
