Hey /sci/, I'm an udergrad getting into research in condensed matter physics. I wanted some resources to quickly get me there.
I barely know statistical mechanics, and wanted to build up to reading Solid state essential concepts by David Snoke.
I'd prefer things I could get through quickly but know I'm asking for a bit much, so any recommendation that covers basic condensed matter physics and isn't sketchy (too hand wavy) would do. if possible not assuming too much stat mech.
Also I have had greiner's thermo+stat mech and ashcroft/mermin and kittel suggested to me. I'd like input on greiner, but I don't like ashcroft/mermin and kittel.
