Are all of our current 3d objects extended into this 4th dimension or do they remain 3d objects in a 4d space?

Say you are laying in your bed at (0,0,0) in our 3d space, if you move in this 4th dimension are you still in your bed at (0,0,0) or did you leave your bed?

A “dimension” doesn’t really look like anything since it’s just a coordinate used to describe an object. A 4-Dimensional world is impossible for us to even conceive of, but it can be described mathematically.

I imagine you would need a 4-dimensional eyeball with a 3-dimentional retina surface for this to work correctly. But I guess we'll just take that part for granted

You can bang your head around an extra spatial dimension if you really try by just looking at its downprojected shadow. Not perfect but you can work it out.
Any higher than that and its very difficult to conceptualize.

If I were to program 4d explorer game that projects onto a 2d plane via the perspective projection, just like in regular 3d games, how would I program the rotations? I want the player to be able to look in every possible direction. Clearly euler angles is not enough. How would you do it?

Well, when one says 'look' we are usually referring to a photovisual event or some representation of sufficient abstraction.

A fourth dimension is just a quaternion event. A self-aware pivot action.

Basically, something can be near in the 3rd dimension but far away in the 4th dimension
