in 1990 you already had pretty usable laptops, touchscreens, and handheld phones
PDAs that were de-facto clunky smartphones in every function already came out in mid 90's
the jump from 1990 to 2020 isn't even close to that from 1960 to 1990

everything we have is 90's tech at the latest, only tweaked a bit and with smaller chips, but we're near the physical limit of that as well

A 1995 Pentium laptop with 16mb of ram and windows 95 did everything it could do just as fast as a windows 10 laptop does today.

The only substantial big jump advancement we've had in 20 years are SSD's. That's fucking it. The rest (cpu/gpu/www etc) is incremental.
