I'm 26, when I finally passed calc 1 after my second try in the third semester, I felt joy and a confidence boost I never felt before, it was like something that finally proved I'm not as retarded as I thought, especially since I straight up forgot most basic math instruments in my first try and studied horribly wrong.
I am still a year behind everyone, but I don't care, I have the proof that I am not dumb so I continue building on that.
If I would be in Economics or whatever, I would just feel like a parasite with a useless job. I have already low confidence, I don't need that.
