In the case that a person has at least a moderately above average IQ (115+)... then hard work is more important than IQ. I was tested a few times as a kid, scored 148, and 152. And got a 1550 out of 1600 on my SATs (back when 1600 was the max). But I'm not bragging... I'm a complete failure. And it's not because of autism or Asperger's, which I do not have. The problem lies in being told, when I was young, that I'm especially smart. Even though I wasn't expressly told this, I developed this idea that I wouldn't have to work to achieve results. I was essentially told how much better I was than other people. Now I'm a complete failure. I'm 38 and I have nothing. I can play piano and clarinet at a relatively high level. I know lots of useless facts. But I'm currently unemployed. I never developed a work ethic.

A hard working 115 IQ normie vs a lazy 150 IQ cooldude... hark work wins every single time.
I'd gladly trade 20 IQ points for even a small amount of intrinsic self motivation.
