Are masculine and feminine behaviours likely to be genetic?
I've been thinking about it and masculine behaviours map well onto projecting genetic fitness, while feminine behaviours map well onto impersonating youth. These are in line with what would help our genes do well. Females are 'picky' and select mates based on genetic fitness; males are in competition over young, fertile mates, meaning that a woman who can impersonate youth for longer is going to increase her chances.
If this is the case we would expect that men will have genes telling them to act masculine while women will have genes telling them to act feminine. Do you think this is so and what does it mean for feminism?
