I respect dentists much more than doctors because they actually provide a service for my money. Cleaning teeth, pulling teeth out, drilling holes in teeth, gluing braces on teeth, et cetera, are all physical actions which require some amount of knowledge and practice to perform. I consider them skilled laborers like electricians and diesel mechanics.
Compare that to a general practitioner who literally never performs a service for anyone. His entire job is to gatekeep knowledge on the behalf of everyone else; you go to the doctor for the purpose of having him tell you things that you could've looked up yourself on the same website he's using to google your problem in the back room. And it doesn't matter if you'd be intelligent enough not to need to go to the doctor in a free country, because our governments enforce their monopoly on medical knowledge by requiring them to approve our purchase of drugs anyway. Medical care wouldn't be so expensive if it weren't for those policies, or for the fact that the supply of doctors is artificially limited by the AMA. Of course those shysters need their pseudo-union to keep their profession profitable, because they don't fucking do anything.
And no, I don't have any beliefs that fall outside the mainstream canon of medical opinion. I don't think doctors are liars or conspirators, I just don't think I should be legally required to pay them for information that should be free.
