but what ever you have on hand is another story. its about temperature difference really. even spotting them on say the forest ground might be hard. they are not going to be very warm to say the least. look around for nightvision vids that do in depth comparisons on quality between products . there are enough prepper survivalist people that there have to be a couple youtube channels for that shit and related stuff. nightvision goggles are like fancy optics and gun enthusiast might have it covered as well. i doubt you find anything that sensitive in their vids but who knows. then check the sensitivity of the product you want to use vs a known product for comparison and estimate the needed multiplication of sensitivity if you find a good reference
