I'm really interested in Organic Chem, but man, not only does the job market look like shit, but the field has matured and at this point total synthesis just seems like a genuine waste in human brain power. Medicinal Chem is trending more towards biologics than small molecules. The other sub disciplines of chemistry don't seem to be doing much better, except maybe Biochem.
