The exif metadata contains stuff like gps coordinates, your phone mac address, phone make/model, time.
Now the servers strip the metadata b4 uploading it to a thread, but it's entirely possible the 4chan servers store the meta data someplace, for posterity or legal reasons, but that's just a guess.
